Paris and its neighbourhood : follow the guide !

Explore the capital from West to East and from North to South.

North-West Paris

Local markets, renowned museums along with a few lesser known ones, elegant town houses, charming churches, numerous antique dealers and theatres… the North-Western area of Paris is a rapidly growing area with many hidden treasures! It has a “calm village atmosphere” in the areas of Batignolles and Epinettes, and then there are the museums of Jacquemart-André and Cernuschi and numerous art galleries should you want to experience the “classic and cultural” side of Paris. Let’s not forget the “shopping and green spaces” towards Madeleine and Plaine Monceau: the city has so many dimensions to it, each one competing to top your list of favourite places!

North-East Paris

The Centquatre, le Plateau, the Maison des Métallos, le Zénith, the Père Lachaise Cemetery and the Villette and its fascinating complex dedicated to science, culture and of course, entertainment! There also are the serene canals and romantic parks, unusual museums and truly amazing small historical areas. Basically, all the ingredients you need to throw together an unforgettable tour filled with discoveries. This part of the city is also quite lively. It is the mecca for artists, who share their art with the public, where several places dedicated to contemporary creation have recently opened their doors. As the sun sets, enjoy the buzz at the bars, cafés and trendy restaurants and end your day at a concert hall or a discotheque.

South-East Paris

The 12th and 13th arrondissements of Paris constitute the huge neighbourhood that is shaping up to be the capital’s new architectural treasure with lots of green spaces. These two arrondissements, which are separated by the natural boundary of the Seine with its quiet and non-polluting form of transport, strike the perfect balance between tradition and modernity. Explore the relatively recent establishments like the Bibliothèque nationale de France François-Mitterrand whose beauty and boldness provide stiff competition to some key places like the Opéra Bastille or the Butte-aux Cailles neighbourhood.
